Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect through green-compass.in, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to describe what the site actually does rather than to cover every eventuality.
Who we are
Green Compass designs and runs hands-on experiences for children at birthdays, weddings, private events, corporate events, exhibitions and carnivals in and around Bengaluru. For any question about this policy or about your information, write to info@green-compass.in or call +91 98450 45290.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for, and we store, only what you type into it:
- your name
- a phone number or email address
- the occasion and the event date
- the ages of the children and roughly how many are expected
- the venue or area
- anything you write in the notes, and any experiences you shortlisted
We also record the date and time of the enquiry, the page it came from, your browser's user-agent string, and the IP address the request arrived from. These are kept to identify and block automated spam.
When you browse
If you tap experiences to build a shortlist, that shortlist is saved in
your own browser using localStorage. It stays on your device, it
is not a cookie, and it is not sent anywhere unless you submit the enquiry
form. Clearing your browser data removes it.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages people look at, roughly where they are in the world, and whether they arrived from a search or a link. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to do this, and the information it gathers is processed by Google. We use it to improve the site, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
We do not run advertising pixels or any other third-party tracker. If you would rather not be measured at all, Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on, and most browsers let you block cookies for this site.
Information about children
We ask for the ages of the children attending, and sometimes the birthday child's first name, purely so that we can choose age-appropriate activities. We do not ask for, and would rather you did not send, any other personal detail about a child. Enquiries should be submitted by a parent, guardian or the organiser of the event, not by a child.
How the information is used
- to reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal
- to plan and run the event you book
- to keep a record of the enquiry in our internal system, so that the team handling your event can see it
- to email the enquiry to our team so that it is not missed
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it goes
An enquiry submitted on this site is:
- stored in our own database, hosted on Google Cloud;
- emailed to our team at Green Compass; and
- recorded in our internal operations system as an enquiry, so it can be followed up and turned into a proposal.
The site itself is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure, and site-usage statistics are processed by Google Analytics. If you contact us through WhatsApp, email or Instagram instead, those conversations are held on those platforms under their own privacy terms.
Signing in with Google
Members of the Green Compass team may sign in to our private admin area using their Google account. Where that is used, we receive the name, email address and profile picture associated with that Google account, and nothing more. This applies only to our own staff, not to visitors to this site.
Photographs
We photograph our set-ups for our portfolio, and some photographs include children and guests. We never publish a child's name or personal details. If you would prefer that photographs of your event, or of your child, are not used anywhere publicly, tell us in writing before the event and we will not use them. You can ask us to remove a published photograph at any time afterwards and we will take it down.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while we are in touch with you and afterwards as part of our business records, so that we can pick up where we left off if you come back to us for another celebration. If you would like your enquiry deleted, ask us and we will remove it.
Your choices
You may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Write to info@green-compass.in and we will act on it. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.
Security
Access to enquiries is limited to the Green Compass team and protected by individual accounts and passwords. Credentials held by our systems are encrypted. No system is perfect, but we do not keep more than we need, and we do not keep payment card details on this website at all.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
Please note: this policy has been drafted to describe our actual practices in plain English. It is not legal advice, and it should be reviewed by a lawyer against the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and any other law that applies to us before it is relied on.
